Problem statement
In the context of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), compliance officers often rely on business rule engines to define and manage rules for detecting suspicious financial activities. Traditionally, these rules are developed in Python code, requiring close collaboration with developers and resulting in delays, miscommunication, and reduced agility in responding to regulatory changes.
Research outcomes
Throughout the development of the Business Rules Manager, we conducted multiple rounds of qualitative interviews at different stages of the development cycle, which revealed the following key insights.
